Rudolph Day - May 16

Hi there,

Panic, panic!  I've just seen a blog post by Scrappy Mo and realised that it's the 25th of the month already, which means that it's Rudolph day.  I missed last month's challenge and so I was determined that I wouldn't miss this month.

I've just made a quick Christmas card using Inkylicious stamps and stencils and the inks that I've used are Memento Lulu Lavender, Tuxedo Black, Bahama and Danube Blue.  Here's my card:

Thank you for your visit :) x

Happy Birthday Aunt

Hello my crafty friends and followers,,

Well, it looks like I'm on a roll this week with challenge cards.  This is the 2nd card that I'm entering into the Allsorts 7th Birthday challenge.  It's a card that I made a short while ago for an Aunt on her 94th Birthday.  I'm pleased to say that she was thrilled with it and I hope that you might like it too:

The main part of the card was made using Spellbinder Elegant Labels Four Dies and I made the large rose using Spellbinder Rose Creations.

I hope to be back with you on Friday with a few more of the Inkylicious samples that I made, so until then, take care and happy crafting :) x

I've been playing truant from Miss Di's Playground over the last few weeks, so I'm just heading over to Pixie's Snippets Playground now.  Hope I'm not in too much trouble!  ;)

Happy 7th Birthday Allsorts

Hello there,

I hope that you're all enjoying your weekend.  Fortunately, heavy rain all day yesterday meant that I had lots of time for card making :)

I originally started my blog last year to enable me to join in with the many card challenges that are out there. I've loved taking part and I've met so many wonderful and talented crafters along the way. I now have regular chats with many of my followers and with some of  the people that I follow too, and it's fabulous to be able to share what I love with like minded people.

One of my favourite challenges is Allsorts, and this week is very special for them as it's their 7th Birthday.  The reason why I like this challenge is because they have such a talented and friendly Design Team and their weekly challenges always inspire me to get creative. The prize that they're offering in this birthday week is absolutely amazing.  It's a £50 voucher for Tattered Lace, so out came my stamps and inks yesterday and here's what I created:

The challenge is 'Happy Birthday' and so I've made a scenic card using my Ink Dusters the Inkylicious 'Daydreamer' stamp set.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope that you enjoy the rest of your weekend :) x

Inkylicious On Hochanda

Good morning my lovely crafty friends, I hope that life is treating you kind.

Before I tell you my very exciting news,  I'd like to welcome my new follower...........Sophie Schmidt , thank you for joining me Sophie:) X

Some of you may have noticed that I've been a little quieter than usual over the last few weeks and there's a very good reason for that which I can now share with you.

My regular followers will know that most of my posts feature cards made with Inkylicious stamps. They've always been a favourite of mine and I've never made a secret of how much I enjoy using them.  A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Emma from Inkylicious who asked if I would like to help them make some samples for some TV shows that they had coming up. Needless to say, I was absolutely thrilled and honoured to be asked and I didn't need to think twice about my answer :)

I've had a fabulous time using the Inkylicious products and I've made quite a few cards which I hope to share with you over the coming weeks.  Here are just a few of them. I really enjoyed making them and it's a pleasure to be sharing them with you today.

There are two Inkylicious shows today on Hochanda at 11am and 3pm, so get the telly on, or check out the recordings of the shows if you miss them to see Inkylicious' fabulous range of products.

I can't wait to watch Deby and Emma doing their amazing demonstrations so I'm off to put the kettle on and get my feet up to enjoy the best of crafting on telly :)

Take care of yourselves and I hope to be back with you very soon x

FSC Blots and Splashes

Good morning to all my wonderful crafting friends.and a very warm welcome to my new follower.......Margaret Wilkinson, it's lovely of you to join me.
.
It's time again for another new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.  The theme this month is 'Blots and Splashes' and has been chosen by our lovely Carola,

Our Design Team produce some amazing samples so please pop along to their blogs to check out their amazing work.

Here's the card I've made for Carola's challenge:

I made several different backgrounds in many different colours before finally being happy with the last one that I made using Starburst Stains on black card as the splashes and blots showed up really well.  The background reminded me of a dramatic firework display, so I decided that I wanted to make one of my favourite 'Fashionable Fifties Girl' stamp by Flonz Craft the star of the show. and doesn't she look glamorous! I coloured her, then heat embossed her with clear embossing powder to make her image pop.

After I'd made the background, it seemed obvious that I needed to go for a Vintage look to co-ordinate, and so I opted for the scattered postcard look, colouring and splashing them with Distress Vintage colours.  It didn't look quite right having my girl in red and everything else in brown, so I changed my stamp to red and sponged the edge of the bottom postcard with red ink to give a little contrast.

Products used to make my card:

Stamps:

Inks
  • Distress - Tea Dye
  • Distress - Walnut Stain
  • Distress - Fired Brick
  • Versafine - Black Onyx
Girl's dress was coloured with a Sharpie Marker

Starburst Stains - Glory Of The Seas Gold
Starburst Stains - Opal Sea Oats

We would love you to join us in this challenge but please remember that we are a stamping challenge, so please don't use digital images, just good old fashioned stamping.

We are as always, very generously sponsored by Leo over at Flonz Craft and one lucky random winner will receive a $20 vouscher to be used online.  There will also be a Top 3 spotlight, chosen by the Design Team,

Thank you for visiting my blog today and I wish you lots of happy crafting x
