Stay Wild

Hello there,

I do hope that you've all enjoyed the glorious weather here in the UK. I have to say that it's a little cooler today and I'm really enjoying the breeze.

I'd like to share a card with you that I've made using Visible Image's Stay Wild Stamp. It is definitely one of my favourites of theirs and I have a few that I made up using different colours. I made this one using Adirondack Cranberry. If you look carefully you can see how I've stamped the smaller horses around the main image:

I made the background by adding a a few different shades of pink and red onto my blending mat and then spritzing with water before pressing my card into it.  I love the new Distress Oxide inks but sadly, I don't yet own any, so I tried to achieve a similar effect by dabbing randomly with a touch of bleach.  It obviously doesn't give the same result but I'm happy with my background.

I'm adding this card to:

Enjoy the rest of the week and I'll be back with you all soon x

  1. You've done well here Sandra, the oxides are superb but you have tried to give yourself a similar effect and I think you've done this brilliantly! The Stay Wild set is a nice set isn't it. Your use of the cranberry tones colours is lovely and I do like the smaller horses in there too! Trying to cool the craft room down a bit!!! Dogs have been struggling too this week. xxxxx

  3. Wow, what a fabulous card Sandra ! love the colours you have used and how you have stamped the small horses over the larger stamp. I do have the oxides and love them but sometimes I find I need something a lot brighter and not as matt, I would never have thought of using cranberry adirondak with this stamp but its just amazing.

  6. This looks fabulous using that cranberry colour Sandra and I love the bleaching around the horse which highlights it beautifully and contrast well with the darker outer edge, also the added little horses look great. x

  8. This is stunning, I always think of this stamp as a kelpie and so always visualise it in blues, but it looks so dramatic in the red, with your beautiful inky background. Glad it is a bit cooler for you, still melting here x

  9. This is a real showstopper, love the gorgeous cranberry colour and, of course, it has horses on it so it's a no brainer for me!! It's been extremely hot here today, but we are just enjoying a bit of breeze so hopeful for a less restless night!! xx

Stunning work on your background colour.
I watched them demo these stamps the other day on C&C and would have loved to have bought some but sadly I didn't have the penies at the time.
I can see them asking you to be on their DT soon.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

It wasn't cooler here yesterday and it looks like two more hot days to come here before it slowly goes back to so nice temperatures round 25 degrees...
So doing all the choirs and fysic work early in the morning here :) Hugs, Gerrina

  17. Sorry to be so late getting here Sandra, my poorly girl has kept me busy with lots of very trips, had her op yesterday and so difficult keeping her cool and comfy.

Another glorious card, the depth of colour really draws you in and enlarged it to have a closer look at the smaller horses cantering into the scene, might even be galloping.

Many thanks for joining us at Penny Black and More challenge.
