Christmas in July!

Hello there,

As I'm getting ready to add my card to this blog post, I can already hear many of you shouting....Noooooooo, not Christmas already, so I'll keep it brief!

Jean Hardy from Crafty Individuals was on Hochanda yesterday sharing her gorgeous Christmas stamps and other festive products.  I made several samples for the shows which I hope to share with you over the coming weeks.  I thought Jean did really well and she looked relaxed throughout the two shows.  Her demos were fabulous and if you missed the shows, then you can always watch them on Hochanda rewind for the next couple of weeks.

The first card I'm sharing with you is the one which I gave you a sneaky peek of in my last post so here's the full card:

Featuring: CI-241, CI-327, CI-456, CI-462, CI-463

This one was shown a few times and is one of my favourites.  It's a shame that they didn't take the tag out as It has another one lovely stamp on it.  Fortunately, I did take a photo before I sent it off to Jean, so here's how it looks:

I hope you like this and I'll post more of my samples over the coming weeks.

Take care and enjoy your weekend, whatever you may be doing x

Crafty Individuals on Hochanda

Hello there my crafty friends,

I'd just like to let you all know that the lovely Jean Hardy has two shows on Hochanda tomorrow (14th of July) at 3pm and 7pm and will be featuring some of her beautiful Crafty Individual Christmas stamps and other products too.

I thoroughly enjoyed making the Christmas samples for the show and maybe we might see a couple of them tomorrow. I hope you'll be able to watch or record the show but if not, then you can always watch it on catch up for a couple of weeks after.  I can't wait to see what gorgeous samples Jean and my teamies have made too :)

I'll leave you today with a card that I've recently made using one of the latest Crafty Individual stamps and also a sneaky peak at part of one of the samples that I've made for the show:

Good luck for tomorrow Jean and I can't wait to watch your fabulous demos x

What You See

Hello there and a happy Monday morning to you all.

A few weeks back, I went to the Stamp Magic show at Doncaster and I bought a few more Inkylicious stamps to add to my ever growing collection.  When I recently saw the Rubber Dance July Colour Challenge, knew this was the perfect opportunity to take out my stamps one of my new stamps and get it inked up for the first time and here's the card that I've made for the challenge:

I knew that I would be using quite a lot of water on this project and so I used a glossy card as it doesn't buckle when the water is added.  I started by putting the three colours onto my a piece of acetate and then spritzing them with water before smooching the colours onto my card.  When I was happy with the colour, I stamped the eye in VersaFine Black Onyx before embossing with a detailed black powder.  I then added several drips under the eye in the three colours to look like tear drops.  Next, I used my Ink Dusters to add more colour and also a star stencil over the colours to add a little more interest.

The card was just a little too big for an A6 card, so I used a square card and added a few Tim Holtz Floral die cuts in black to finish the card off.

The stamp is by Inkylicious and the inks that I've used are: Distress Fossilized Amber; Wilted Violet and Adirondack Raspberry.

Wishing you all a happy and colourful week and I'll be back with you on Thursday to share some exciting news about the next Crafty Individuals show on Hochanda x

Craft Stamper Treescape

Hello there,

Here's my Treescape that was published in the July edition of Craft Stamper Magazine:

And here's a sneaky peak at part of my card that's in the August edition.  I'll share the whole card with you when Craft Stamper publish their next edition:

10/7/17 Update:
I'm really sorry for any confusion caused by my changes to this blog post but I have now received confirmation from Craft Stamper that their guidelines haven't changed and that you are still allowed to post any published work on publication of their following magazine, so I've added the picture again.

Kind regards, Sandra x

Serenity

Hello there,

I hope that you're all well and happy.

Before I start this post, I'd just like to say thank you to all of you for the very kind comments that I received on my last, and on my previous posts, they're very much appreciated.  I would also like to say 'Hello' to my new followers and thank you for joining me on my crafting journey.

I received some new stamps from Chocolate Baroque on this morning and I've been having a play with them.  I had two vouchers to use and as soon as I saw the Serenity and Tranquillity stamp sets, I knew they were the ones for me. Here's my card:

I'm happy with the result, other than the Water Lilies which I think needed to be paler but every day's a learning day and I'll try a lighter colour next time.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Lesley Wharton and her team for despatching my order so promptly. The service from start to finish was exemplary and it took just two days to arrive with me, so I was thrilled this morning when the post arrived as I was able to get stamping right away.

Take care and I'll be back with you all soon x

'Anything With Flowers' at Stamping Sensations and some happy news!

Today is a very happy day for me, let me tell you why.........

When I started my blog just over two years ago, the very first card challenge that I entered was Stamping Sensations.  I was lucky enough to win that challenge which then gave me the confidence to keep on blogging and to try out new things and new challenges.  It's always been special to me, so you can't believe the absolute joy that I felt when Brenda and her team invited me to join them on their Design Team.  I'm pleased to say that I accepted their kind invitation without hesitation and today is my debut at Stamping Sensations.

Before I share with you the cards that I've made, I would just like to say a very special and heartfelt thank you to Brenda, and to each and every one of her Design Team for making me feel so welcome. I really appreciate it and I'm looking forward to new friendships and to the challenges ahead.

On to business now and this month's challenge which it 'Anything With Flowers.' We are very kindly sponsored this month by Crafty Individuals and the lucky winner will receive a £35 voucher to spend on their fabulous stamps.

Now I also recently joined the Design Team over at Crafty Individuals, so when I found out that they were to be the sponsors for this months challenge, it just felt like it was all meant to be and I couldn't wait to get my stamps out and get cracking, so here's the first card that I've made for this month's challenge using one of the latest stamps by Crafty Individuals CI-470:

I actually created the image using several layers but they don't really show too well on the picture above so I've taken the one below from a different angle which shows this much better.

I started by stamping just the Rose part of the stamp by inking it with a Spectrum Aqua marker (Spice) and then stamping randomly around the outside of my background. I didn't cover it completely as I wanted to leave some of the card plain around the main focal image.

I coloured the Rose using the same marker and then used various Distress and Adirondack inks to add more colours and shading to it, and also to the rest of the image as you can see from the photo above.

Here's my second card using Crafty Individuals CI-472

I started by painting the image with Distress and Adirondack inks.  I love purple and yellow as a colour combination, so this was the first choice for me as I thought that they would work perfectly with this beautiful image.

Once the image was finished, I set about making a background to match.  I started by dusting over the card with the Adirondack Sunshine Yellow and Distress Wilted Violet. I then stamped randomly with CI-017 and CI-194 to add the subtle script and music.  I used a Harlequin stencil to replicate the Harlequin pattern on the main focal image.  I then finished by giving it a splattering of water and lifting it off with a paper towel,

We really hope that you'll be able to join us for this month's challenge but please remember that we are a stamping challenge and we need to see stamping as your main focal image. All the details of our challenge rules can be found here.

Please note:  If we don't comment on your entry it will be because it doesn't follow our theme to qualify under our rules, or because we are asked to sign in or provide additional data to comment on third part hosts such as Instagram, Flickr or Facebook etc.  We really don't want to be rude but we do want to be fair to those who follow the rules.

That's all from me so I wish you a very happy and colourful day x
