Inkylicious August Samples

Hello there,

Did you manage to watch the 11am Inkylicious Show on Hochanda with Deby?  There should have been a second show at 2pm but that's sadly been cancelled as everything has sold out, which doesn't really surprise me as their stamps are absolutely fabulous!

When I dropped my samples off earlier in the week, I managed to have a look at the samples that Emma had made for the show and they were absolutely stunning, especially the Trees and the Poppies but I'm sure that Deby will be posting them on her Facebook page shortly.

Here are just a few of the samples that I made for the shows, hope you like them :)

That's all for today but I'll post more of them very soon.. Until then, take good care of yourselves and happy crafting :)

Rudolph Day August 16

Hello there.

Just a quick post today with a card that I've made for Scrappy Mo's Rudolph Challenge.  I know I say this every month but I can't believe just how quickly the months are flying by!

Here's my card:

Just a simple card this time made using the Inkylicious Picture Perfect stamp.  I used the Mountain Valley Stencil  and Ink Dusters to create the snowy hills in the background and then stamped the image using a VersaMark ink pad which I then heat embossed with a white powder. I used Kraft card to stamp on as I love the way that the white just pops off the card,

Just a quick reminder that Deby and Emma from Inkylicious will be on Hochanda tomorrow at 11am and 2pm.  There are some gorgeous stamps and stencils on, and I don't know about you but I can't take my eyes off the screen when Deby and Emma are doing their demos.  Hope you'll be able to tune in, if not, then you can always watch the programmes on  Hochanda Catch Up for about ten days after they've been shown. I'll be posting some of the samples that I've made after the shows have aired.

Happy crafting :) x

Lucky, lucky Me!

Hello there my crafty friends,

I've followed the blog over at 'Crafty Individuals' for a long while now as I love their stamp range and art work.  A couple of weeks ago, I was just browsing through their latest blog posts when I noticed that they had a new stamp release and a blog candy give away. All you had to do was to leave a comment about the new stamps and then two very lucky winners would be selected at random. Much to my surprise, I turned out to be one of the winners and Dora was the other.  I have to say a really big 'Thank you' to Dora, as I had actually missed the post saying that I'd won and it was Dora who so very kindly let me know so that I wouldn't miss out on the prize, what a lovely lady! If you get a chance, then pop over and take a look at Dora's blog as she make some fabulous cards and has her own range of Digi stamps.

Right then, here's what we both won:

I'm absolutely thrilled to bits with these fabulous stamps and I want to say another really big thank you to Jean Hardy and Malcolm Noble over at Crafty Individuals so being so kind and generous as to give away two sets of their very latest stamps. It's hard to pick a favourite but I'm definitely in love with 'Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses'.  That's the one that you can see with the little boy on, all ready with his bucket and spade for a day at the seaside. Here's the card that I've made with that stamp set:

Here's another card that I've made using the Typewriter stamp.

Thank you for visiting today :) x

FSC Resist Stamping

Good morning all and hello to my new followers.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

It's time for another new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and the theme this time is 'Resist Stamping' and here's the card that I've made:

I made several attempts with different stamps before I finally made one that I was happy with. I know that I'm probably my worst critic but the end product has to feel right for me.

I started by stamping the Allium stamps by Inkylicious with a VersaMark ink pad and then heat embossed them with a white embossing powder.  Ordinarily, I would use clear embossing powder for the resist method but unfortunately, my VersaMark pad is quite messy and I can't really get a good, clear impression with it. Next, I sponged around the flowers with Dandelion ink to make them stand out a little.  I then sprinkled three shades of Brushos around my image, starting with Lemon, on and around the flowers, then Gamboge on the tips of the flowers before finishing with Turquoise around the outside of my card.

The Brushos are a new product to me and it's all just trial and error with them at the moment. They are such an exciting product to use as you just never know what you're going to end up with and the end result is always totally different depending on what type of paper or card you use.  For this one, I've used a stamping card.  The colours are so intense and you only need the tiniest amount to achieve and amazing result.  I have to say that it's quite a big leap of faith for me not knowing how the background's going to turn out and just going for it, but then that's the joy of them.  It's like watching magic happen, and the last time I felt like that with a crafting product was when I first discovered heat embossing!  I'm digressing here, so moving on swiftly..........

We would love you to join us in this challenge but please remember that we are a stamping challenge, so please don't use digital images, just good old fashioned stamping.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and I wish you a happy day and lots of happy crafting x

Hot Summer Days

Hello there,

I hope that you're all having a great weekend and finding some time to craft along the way.

I have a few new followers, so thank you for joining me and I hope you'll visit often.

I'd like to share a card with you that I'm entering into the 'Country View Challenge' and their theme this month is 'Hot Summer Days.'

The background was created using Ink Dusters and all the stamps that I've used are by Inkylicious.

Stamps used:

  • Seascape Memories
  • Gone Fishing  (Pebbles)
  • Far Away

Inkylicious have two shows coming up on Hochanda on the 26th of August at 11am and 1pm, so I hope you get the chance to watch Deby and Emma working their magic with the stamps, stencils and Ink Dusters.  I'm busy enjoying making samples at the moment which I'll share with you after the shows have aired.

Apologies that I haven't had much time to comment recently but I'm hoping to catch up with you all over the next week or so.  Until next time, I hope the sun shines for you :) x
