Rudolph Days - August 17

Hello there,

Just a short and sweet one from me today :)

It's Rudolph day once again over at Scrappy Mo's blog and I'd like to share a card with you that I made recently as a sample for Crafty Individual's Christmas show on Hochanda:

I think this image of the children in the snow is just adorable.  I stamped it several times and then coloured and fussy cut it before adding it to the background that I'd made.

Wishing you all things good x

Visible Image meets Inktense

Hello there,

I'd just like to say many thanks to my loyal band of followers for the lovely comments that you've left recently, they're really appreciated, and so are you! :)

I really been impressed with the artwork that I've seen around using  Derwent Inktense pencils and I was thrilled when my lovely Hubby treated me to a set a couple of weeks back.  I was instantly impressed when I saw the depth of colour that you can achieve with them in comparison with the normal water colour pencils. I also love how they just blend so effortlessly.  I've coloured in a few images which I'll share will you at a later date but I thought I'd try something a little different for me which was definitely out of my comfort zone and here's the result:

I've used this fabulous stamp set by Visible image on several occasions but I thought I'd try to be a little more artistic with this one.  Although there's lots that I need to try and improve on, I'm reasonably pleased with this as a first attempt.

I started by stamping the cat's face using Versafine ink.  Once this was completely dry, I then used my new pencils to add the colour before using a water colour brush to blend it all.

Deckchairs By The Sea

Hello there,

I hope that you've all enjoyed your weekend.

I'd like to share a card with you that was featured in last month's edition of Craft Stamper magazine:

The main focal image is one of my absolute favourites from Crafty Individuals.  I love it because it's so full of fun and it reminds me of those careless days spent splashing around in the sea, when time just didn't matter.  The guy in the deckchair is a stamp that I've had for ages by Sheena Douglass.  He looks quite relaxed, don't you think?

The background was made by spritzing water onto Distress inks on my craft mat and then dragging my card through it.  Once it was dry, I then used Seaside stamps by Sweet Dixie and the same inks so that everything would tone in nicely.  I added some Fluffy Puffy stuff on the incoming tide to add some dimension and to give it more of a realistic look.

That's all from me today but I hope to be back with you all soon, until then, enjoy the rest of your day x

Pretty Flamingos

Hello There,

Thank you for your very kind comments on my last post and 'Hello' to my new followers.  Thank you for joining me on my crafting journey and I hope you'll visit often.

I'm here today to share with you a card that I recently made for Crafty Individuals featuring their 'Pretty Flamingos'

I'm fairly new to using acrylic paints but I thought I would try using them with these stamps. I really like the depth of colour that you can achieve with them and I think this card has quite a tropical feel to it, what do you think?

I've Gone Fishing at Stamping Sensations

Hello there,

It's time for a new challenge over at Stamping Sensations and our theme this time is 'Anything Goes.' I have to say that this gives everyone lots of scope to get their creative juices flowing and we really hope that you'll be able to join us.

I decided to make a colourful scenic card this time and I hope that you like it:

I started by using Ink Dusters to colour in the background with Memento Dandelion before masking over the water and then dusting again with Memento Rose Bud, Danube Blue and Adirondack Denim.  I also used the same colours in the top right hand corner.  Once I was happy with my background, I then used a stencil to create the mountains with Rich Cocoa ink and I used the same ink to stamp the trees.  I had originally intended to stamp everything in brown but then I decided that using black in the foreground would give the image more perspective, what do you think?

All the stamps and stencils that I've used are by Inkylicious.

That's all from me so I wish you a very happy and colourful day x

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge:

A Poppy With Love

Hello there,

I made this card a while back for someone who's going through a tough time at the moment and this challenge seemed like the perfect time so share my card with you all, so here it is:

I started by stamping the Inkylicious Watercolour Poppies and then masking them before I created my background.
The background was made by dabbing Distress inks onto my craft mat and then spritzing with water. I then added a little more colour by sponging it directly onto my card. Once I was happy with my background, I then removed the mask and coloured the poppies using Spectrum Noir markers.

Thank you for your visit today and I'll be back with you again soon as we have a new challenge starting on Sunday at Stamping Sensations.  Until then, enjoy the rest of your week and stay happy x
