Rudolph Day - September 17

Hello there,

Here we are again on the twenty fifth, so it's time once again for another Rudolph Day over at Scrappy Mo's.

The card that I'm using for the challenge is a sample that I made for Crafty Individuals earlier in the year:

The background was made using Distress inks and the stamps that I used are:

• CI-462
• CI-446
• CI-017

The sweet little boy and the dove were from the 'Merry Christmas' miniature paper pad.

A Pictorial Invoice

Before I start, I'd just like to say a big 'Thank You' to my loyal band of followers for your kind words and continuing support, I really appreciate it and it wouldn't be the same without you.

I'd like to share with you today a card that I've made using one of the latest new stamps by Crafty Individuals, it's call 'A Pictorial Invoice.'

I stamped the image using a Big and Juicy ink pad and then used the same pad to colour the individual elements.  I was happy with the background and the colour of my card but I felt that it was still lacking something, so I added the leaves and butterflies to give a little dimension and this did the trick.

This stamp and others are on sale at the moment at Crafty Individuals, so why not pop over and take a look.

Stay Wild Revisited

It feels like ages since I've posted anything although it's only been a week.  I've not been around quite as much as I've been busy recently making some samples for an upcoming Crafty Individuals show on Hochanda.  I'll let you all know when the show will be on a little nearer to the time.

I'd like to share a card with you today that I've made for a family birthday.  It's a card using one of my favourite stamps by Visible Image:

I've made the background by stamping and spritzing various Distress inks onto my craft mat and then picking up the colour on my card.  I've added a touch of bleach here and there, and I think the result looks a little similar to when Distress Oxides have been used,  I don't have yet but they are still on my crafty wish list.  I've used a vanilla embossing powder as it doesn't look quite as harsh as white.

Buddha at Stamping Sensations

It's time for a new challenge at Stamping Sensations and what great fun I've had creating this card. When I first saw the colours of this challenge, I wasn't sure what I would make using them but I'm really happy with how this eventually turned out:

I started by stamping Buddha using Versafine Black Onyx and then heat embossed with a clear powder.  This helps the ink not to run when it comes to the painting part.  I masked Buddha off before setting about my background.  Now at this point, I had no idea what stamps I would be using so I started by adding a pale pink glow around my image.  I then used a stencil and Adirondack Raspberry to create a swirl around him.  As there was lots of space left at this point, I stamped randomly using Versa Magic Oasis Green ink and a small flower stamp.  Still lots of space left so I stencil in some green dots and a Lattice pattern with Memento Nautical Blue. As this has now created a border that I'm happy with, I decided to stamp some Oriental looking hanging flowers with the pinks and blues that I've already used int he rest of my scene.  Almost done now so I sponge around the edge with the Nautical Blue before removing the mask and paining Buddha in the same colour and also using some Teal Zeal to add some shading.  I finished off by adding a Peace sentiment by Crafty Individuals which I think works just perfectly with this scene.  I think I've managed to hit the brief and I hope that you like it.
