Santa Clause Is Coming To Town

Hello there my crafty friends.

I hope that you're enjoying the weekend and keeping nice and warm during this cold

I've gone for a Vintage look with this card as I wanted it to have a traditional feel to it.  All of the stamps that I've used are by 'Crafty Individuals' and I've coloured it using Distress inks and Inktense pencils.  Don't those little children look sweet peeping through the window!  Talking of Crafty Individuals, don't forget that Jean Hardy will be back on Hochanda on the 1st of December with more of her wonderful products and demos.

Wishing you all a happy crafting week x

Bee Crafty Beautanical

Hello my crafty friends,

It's been absolutely ages since I've entered any card challenges and so I thought that I would rectify the situation.

Here's a card that I've made today using one of the 'Beautanicals'' stamps from Bee Crafty.  I bought this the Stamp Magic show in October, so I thought that it was time for me to give it it's first outing:

As I don't have any Bee Crafty Sentiments, I've used one of my favourites by Inkylicious as I felt that the space needed filling.

The flower itself is coloured with Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet Distress inks and the background was created using the same colour Distress Oxides. I then various stencils used over the colours.  I stamped the butterfly twice and then shaped it's wings to give a more realistic look. I'm really happy with the end result as it has a lovely fresh look to it and I hope that you'll like it too.

More Gorgeous Snowmen

Hello there,

Just a quick post from me today to share another of the cards that I made using the new Crafty Individuals Snowman Stamp CI-485:

I stamped and white embossed the image onto Kraft card and then coloured in the snowmen using white ink.  I stamped the frame twice and then fussy cut it to add more dimension.  Here's another photo which shows this much better:

As you can see clearer on this photo, I fussy cut and decoupaged the snowmen's hats and scarves too.

Thank you for looking and I wish you a happy day x

New Christmas Stamps at Crafty Individuals

Hello there,

I'm sure if you're a fan of Crafty Individuals that you might already know that they've just released three new and very gorgeous Christmas stamps.  When the stamps arrived with me, I just couldn't put them down and I know that you'll love them too.  Here are three samples that I've made using each of the stamps:

Jean will be back on Hochanda on the 1st of December with more of her lovely stamps and demos, and I'll let you know the times of the shows a little nearer to the time of the event.

That's all from me today so I'll wish you a happy and colourful week x

Rememberance Day

I'm here today to share with you a card that I've made for Remembrance Day.

My wonderful Dad worked on the railways in Burma during the second world war and my Granddad received the 'Distinguished Conduct Medal' for his bravery during the 'Battle of the Somme' in WW1.  My thoughts are with them both today and with all the other brave men and women who gave so much of themselves so that we might have a better future.  Thank you xx

One Layer Christmas Cards at Stamping Sensations

Hello there,

I do hope that you're all keeping well and happy.

It's time for a new challenge over at Stamping Sensations and our theme this time is 'One Layer Christmas Cards.'  Now I now that the thought of creating something with one layer fills some people with dread but I have to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed making this Christmas card.

I started by stamping the base of the Inkylicious snow globe with Distress Walnut stain and painting it with Distress Tea Stain before adding the circular stencil to enable me to create the globe itself. Once I was happy that the stencil was in the right place, I used my Ink Dusters and also a sponge dauber to give it a little more detail around the edge. The ink I used to do this with was Blueprint Sketch.

With the globe all finished, it was then time to stamp my Crafty Individuals Robin in place and give him some colour using some water colour pencils.

I created the border of my card using some lovely stamps that came free with the Creative Stamper magazine last year. I've used these stamps so many times and I have to say that I love them. The colours that I've used to stamp with are Impress Olive Green and the Walnut Stain.  The red bow and berries were made using Adirondack Cranberry.

With my card almost finished now, I added my sentiment and some iridescent glitter to the base of the dome to give the impression of snow sparkling.  As this is a one layer card, I drew a fine black line using a Sharpie pen around the edge of my finished card to give the impression that the card had been mounted.

That's all from me for now, so I'll wish you a happy and peaceful day x
