Happy New Year 2018 and Favourite cards of 2017

Hello there,

Well.... Christmas is over for another year and here we are once again on the verge of a new year, a fresh start, and I can't help but wonder what this one will bring for us all.  For me, 2017 has been one filled with much personal joy as our youngest Grandson was born in January, a month earlier than anticipated, so he's kept us all on our toes.

Crafting wise, I've joined the Design Team at Crafty Individuals and I feel very content with where I'm at right now.  It's a real privileged to be part of a wonderful team and I still have to keep pinching myself at times to believe it!

I thought that I'd end this year by sharing a favourite card of mine from each month of 2017, so here goes:

Merry Christmas 2017

Hello there to all my crafty friends and followers.

First of all,  I apologise for my lack of blogging and visits over the last couple of weeks.  I've had one of the dreaded Christmas bugs that have been going around and it seems to be taking me some time to get over it but I couldn't let today go without wishing all of my crafty friends and followers a Merry Christmas and to say thank you for all of your kindness over the last year.  I really appreciate your visits and the kind comments that you leave as I know how busy life can get at times.

Christmas for me is a time of reflection.  A time to remember loved ones who are no longer with us and a time to be thankful for all the good things that we have in life.  Having lost my own Dad at Christmas many years ago and loosing a very special Aunt on Thursday, my heart goes out to everyone who may be in grief, or sad and lonely at this time.

With three young Grandchildren, I'm also reminded of the magic and excitement that Christmas brings and we are so lucky to have our families close by.  Wherever you are, and whoever you're with this Christmas,  I wish you peace, joy and happiness.

Here's a card for you.  It's one of the cards that I've sent out this year to family and friends, although the colours did vary.  I've used a photo programme to add a few snowflakes as I though it looked more festive:

A Walk Through The Flowers

Hello there on this cold and frosty morning,

I'd like to share with you a couple more of the samples that I've made for Crafty Individuals.  You may be familiar with these two already if you follow the Crafty Individuals blog as Jean shared them on there a few days ago:

Featuring: CI-411, CI-449, CI-454

Featuring: CI-417, CI-415, CI-464

I used Distress and Distress Oxides to create the backgrounds and Derwent Inktense pencils to colour the flowers.  These stamps are so beautiful and they were an absolute joy to use.

I hope that you're enjoying the samples as I really enjoyed making them.

Until next time, stay warm and safe, and be happy x

'Winter Trees and Flowers' at Stamping Sensations

Hello there my crafty friends.

It's time for a new challenge over at 'Stamping Sensations' and I can't believe that this is the last one of the year.  This year has flown by so quickly and I've really enjoyed being part of the team, and I'm really looking forward too, to seeing lots of new crafty creations in the year ahead, both from my lovely teamies and from you crafty lot too :)

Our theme this month is 'Winter Trees and Flora' and here's the card that I've made:

As I absolutely love to use white ink on Kraft card, I thought that's what I would do to make this card.  I started by creating the fallen snow using white ink and a mountain stencil and then I went on to stamp my moon and then to use a circular stencil to give it it's shape.  Next, it was time to add my Winter trees and the Deer.  Once everything was in place, I used a white pen to highlight the snow on the trees.  Finally, I heat embossed the Winter sentiment using with white embossing powder and then I dusted around the edges with the white ink and added a few snowflakes.

All of the stamps and stencils that I've used today are by Inkylicious and the inks that I've used are: Colour Box: Frost White and Distress: Ground Espresso.

That's all from me for now, so I'll wish you a happy and peaceful day x
