More Crafty Individuals Samples January 18

Hello there and a happy Sunday to you all.

If you've been one of unlucky people who's been ill with one of the the colds or flu that have been going around, then I wish you all a speedy recovery.  It feels like it's been winter for a long time now, and I for one, am looking forward to brighter and warmer days.......roll on spring.

I'm here today to share a few more of the samples that I made for the Crafty Individuals shows that were on Hochanda on the 24th.  If you missed them, then you can always catch up for the next couple of weeks.  I love using 'Tree Stamps' and so I was in my element making these samples:

That's all from me for today but I hope to be back with you all very soon x

Rudolph Day January 18

Hello there,

I'd like to share with you a card that I've made for the 'Rudolph Days' challenge over at Scrappy Mo's blog.  It's the first one of the year and I'm hoping to make a Christmas card each month, right up to November, so here's my first offering of the year:

All of the stamps that I've used are by Inkylicious with the exception of the sentiment which came free with a paper crafting magazine.

I'll be back with you tomorrow as promised with a few more of the samples that I made for the Crafty Individuals shows that were on Hochanda earlier in the week.

Enjoy your day x

It's All About The Trees

Hello there,

Did you manage to catch Crafty Individuals on Hochanda today at 3pm?  Jean Hardy and Lesley Wharton were working their magic with their demos and showing the most beautiful stamps, including some new releases.  There is a second show at 7pm tonight but it you miss that, then you can always watch them for the next couple of weeks on Hochanda Catch Up.

I'd like to share with you just a few of the samples that I made for the shows:

These tree stamps were so beautiful to work with and for those of you who managed to get them before they sold out, I know that you'll enjoy them too.

I'll be back on Sunday with a few more samples x

Don't Let Someone Dim Your Light

Hello there,

I hope that life is treating you all kindly.

I have a busy week ahead so I don't have much time to chat today but I just wanted to add a very quick post with a card that I've made for a lovely young lady who's going through a bit of a tough time at the moment.

The sentiment is just perfect and I've made the card in a colour to match her name.  The inks that I've used are all Distress Oxides with exception of the name which was made just using a normal Distress ink.

All of the stamps that I've used today are by Visible Image.

Take care and I hope to be back with you all soon x

Let's Have A Little Summer Sunshine In January!

Good morning,

I hope that this day will be a good one for you filled with lots of things that make you smile:)

I entered a couple of card challenges last week for the first time in ages and was lucky enough to have my card chosen in the DT's Top 5 picks at Allsorts.  I was so thrilled that I've decided to enter this week's challenge too and the theme at Allsorts this week is: 'No Patterned Papers.'

Making my own backgrounds is one of my favourite crafting things to do as the possibilities are just endless.

Here's the card that I've made:

Now I don't know about you but I'm getting just a little fed up of seeing grey skies and rain recently, so I thought that I would cheer up proceedings by opting for some summer sunshine.  The main focal image of my card is one of my favourite stamps by Crafty Individuals.  Don't those girlfriends look like they're having the time of their lives just splashing carelessly!

I started my background by blending various Distress Inks and some Memento Teal Zeal, and using just a touch of blue Brushos to give that underwater effect.  I used a stencil to add some depth and then I used various stamps including Seahorses and shells by 'Sweet Dixie' stamps to continue the seaside theme.  The sentiment and seagulls are also by Crafty Individuals.

I hope that this little bit of sunshine will brighten you day x

Love Is In The Air

Hello there,

I do hope that you're all keeping well as I know that there are some very nasty bugs doing the rounds at the moment.  If you're not well, then wrap up warm, look after yourself and get well soon x

I'm here today to share with you a card that I've made for our Son and Daughter-In-Law's Anniversary which is this week.  I can't believe how quickly the last two years have passed since their wedding day :)

I enjoyed making this as all the products are new to me and I love trying out new stamps.  I was lucky enough last week to pick up a copy of the Creative Stamping magazine and the free stamps this time are absolutely fabulous.  It's a music collection by Sheena Douglass and I can definitely see them getting lots of use.  On this card, I've stamped the musical notes, corners and sentiments using those free stamps.  The stamped couple are by Crafty Individuals.  I bought this lovely stamp a few months ago but it's the first time I've used it.

Take care and I hope to be back with you all very soon x

Cold and Frosty Colours at Stamping Sensations

Hello there my Crafty Friends,

I do hope that you all had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Here we are again at the start of another year of crafting adventures and I wonder what this year will have in store for us all, lots of exciting things I hope.  I'm determined to make an effort this year to ink up some stamps that have sat unloved and underused in my drawers for far too long.  I keep saying that I won't buy any more stamps until I've used all that I've already got but sadly, that's a resolution that I never seem to manage to keep.  I'm sure that you all understand where I'm coming from here :)  Let's have a show of hands!

Today is the first challenge of the year at Stamping Sensations and our theme this time is 'Cold and Frosty Colours.'  We would like to see you using lots of blues, purple and whites but the subject is of your own choosing, so lots of scope there.  Here's the card that I've made for this new challenge:

I started by creating the background with Distress Oxides, stamps and stencils and  I then used the lid from a container and some acrylic paint to make the white rings. Next, I stamped and heat embossed a row of white trees before adding another piece of card with more trees and the birds on.  I finished by adding a Tim Holtz die cut in the corner to break things up a little.

All of the stamps and stencils that I've used today are by Crafty Individuals and the stamps are: CI-209. C-481, CI-478, CI-017

That's all from me for now, so I'll wish you a happy and peaceful day x
