Hello there,
I hope that you're all enjoying the Bank Holiday here in the UK. Although we were supposed to be having thunderstorms here, it's been fine all day. I was up with the lark this morning and straight into the garden. The lawns could actually do with a little rain but I'm loving this fine weather. I think it's because we had to wait so long for it to arrive.
Blog land seems to be very quiet at the moment and I'm suspecting that may also have something to do with the weather. I know that this GDPR thing as been a nightmare for most of us too and I've read on a couple of blogs that people are thinking of giving it all up, which would be so sad. It's such a shame when all we want to do is to share what we've made with like minded people. Enough of that now though and onto cards, here's one that I'd like to share with you:
The last time I was over at Inkylicious dropping off some samples, Deby gave me a couple of new stamps that they've made to try out. The cats are a larger version of some that I've used previously but the difference with these is that they are both separate from the branch, with I think is a great Idea as you can then use them in different settings and independently, so far more scope. The second new stamp is the one that I've used around the top of my card, it's pretty isn't it. I don't think these are on Inkylicious' web site yet but I'm sure it won't be too long before Deby puts them on.
All the stamps that I've used on this card are by Inkylicious, and I've used both the positive and negative brick wall stamps. I'm very happy with the finished card and I decided that a few gem stones would make the tree a little more magical.
That's all from me today and I thank you for taking the time to visit x

Bitter Sweet Birthday
Hello there,
I'd like to share a card with you today that I made for a lady who meant a lot me, and who was a part of my life from the day that I was born. It was Pat's 80th birthday last month and so I made a special card for her. I stamped the image using desert sand and then I colour the the roses using water colours:
Two weeks after her 80th birthday, Pat passed away peacefully x

Close To Nature with Crafty Individuals
Hello there,
It's time for some mid-month inspiration over at Stamping Sensations and I'd like to share a card with you that I've made using two of the latest stamps by Crafty Individuals. Our theme this month is 'Close to Nature' and I think these stamps fit the bill for that just perfectly. The stamps are absolutely beautiful and the one with the Pied Wagtail on is definitely one of my all time favourites. Although this stamp looks fabulous when it's stamped just in black, I thought I'd opt for something a little different and so I've stamped it using Adirondack Cranberry. Here it is:
The image in the frame is another new stamp, designed by Jean Hardy at Crafty Individuals.
If you haven't joined us already this month, then I hope that this post might inspire you to do so.
Take care and Happy Crafting,
Sandra x

Unicorns
Hello there,
I'm here today to share a few more of the samples that I made for Inkylicious' show on Hochanda last week and today, it's all about Unicorns:
I'm sorry that it's only a very short post again but things are very busy at the moment with one thing and another. Hopefully, things should be back to normal again in the next week or two and I'll then have a little more time to spend in my craft room.
Take care and I hope the sun shines for you wherever you are x

We're 'Close to Nature' at Stamping Sensations
Hello to you all on this Sunday morning,
It's time for a new challenge over Stamping Sensations and our theme this time is 'Close to Nature.'
Here's the card that I've made:
That's all from me for now, so I'll wish you a happy and peaceful day x

Now we are very generously sponsored this month by the lovely Lesley Wharton from Chocolate Baroque. The prize that Lesley is offering is their fabulous 'Wild Meadow 'A4 stamp set, along with a sheet of 'Cling a Ling' to mount them on. It just so happens that the Wild Meadow set was the first set of stamps that I ever bought from Chocolate Baroque, many moons ago and so I decided to make my cards with some of those stamps today.
I started by creating my background using Fossilized Amber Distress Ink, Adirondack Peach Bellini and Memento Nautical Blue. My mountains were made using Memento Tuxedo Black. Once I was happy with my background, I then used Versafine black Onyx to stamp the silhouette flowers. I also used second generation stamping to give more of a sense of depth. I do love using Versafine ink as it gives such a clear image but unfortunately, it does smudge quite easily, so for this reason, I heat embossed the flowers with a clear embossing powder to set the image. I then used Adirondack Water Melon around the top of my card, then Nautical Blue followed by Tuxedo Black around the bottom. Had I not heat embossed my card, then this would have been the point where it all went wrong. The sentiment that I've used is by Andy Skinner.
This card makes me think of warm Summer days :)
That's all from me for now, so I'll wish you a happy and peaceful day x

Inkylicious Seaside Samples - May 18
Hello again,
The lovely Deby and Emma from Inkylicious were on Hochanda today at 2pm. If you missed the show, then you can always watch it on Catch Up at Hochanda for the next couple of weeks.
Well I have to say that when I collected these stamps from Deby, it was like Christmas Day for me. There were so many beautiful stamps that I hardly knew where to start as I wanted to play with them all at once! :) As I've made quite a few cards, I'll share them over the next few weeks so that you don't get too fed up of seeing my posts. I do thank you all for your patience as this is my third post this week and ordinarily, I would only post twice at the most.
Here are just some of the things that I've made:

This is something a little different for me but I was really pleased how it turned out:
I glued some Ice Cream sticks together and painted them with black acrylic paint.
Next, I dusted over with white ink before applying the colours.
I then stencilled in the moon with white ink and mountains with black acrylic.
I used a white pen to add some stars and to give the water a moonlit look.
Next is a little gift bag that I've decorated using the gorgeous new
round shell stamp which I've heat embossed in white.
The sentiment and image in the center are from the new
A5 Seaside Elements stamp set. The crackle background was made using this stamp
Again using the new Shell stamp and the picture in the center is made
from the Seaside Elements A5 set. I've used the Worn Paint stamp in
the background too
