In Love With Sebastian

Hello there,

Well I don't know about the weather where you are but it's been raining here for the last few days and it's hard to believe that we ever had such glorious weather back in February.  It's been lovely to see all the blossom on the trees and you can see buds starting to appear everywhere, so lets hope it won't be too long before spring arrives.

I'd like to share two cards with you today that I've made using my new 'Sebastian' stamp from Lavinia.  I watched their shows last week on Hochanda and I just couldn't resist him.

The background on the first one was made by smooshing various Distress inks and then picking up the colour.  The second one was made with Brushos and then I've used various inks around the edge to darken it.  I tend to always do this with a darker colour as it draws in the viewers eye and frames the image.  I also discovered a new products on the shows, which were the Brushos 'Sprinkle It.'  These are absolutely amazing.  They can be used in exactly the same way as normal Brusho to give a wonderful all over sparkle, or they can be mixed with water and painted directly where you need them.  I've used the gold one on my second card but I don't think it shows too well in the photos.  Once it's dry, then it's pretty much set in place, so it looks great but you don't have glitter all over the place.  This will be a new experience for me as I normally sparkle wherever I go :)

Here are my cards:

That's all from me for today and I wish you all a wonderful weekend x

I'd like to enter my second card into the following challenges:

The Artistic Stamper March - Colour It Green

Same weather here Sandra, lashing it down, I've been waiting to go to Huntingdon but I think I'll have to make a dash for it.

He's a gorgeous Seahorse and love the vibrancy of your cards, I was miffed to miss those shows and caught literally the last few moments of the evening one, looked for catch up but nothing so guess they sold out as per usual.

These two cards are stunning Sandra, I will admit to being a huge Lavinia fan. I think I must have the whole of her stamp collection and even the cutting files. Thank you for your comment on my blog earlier.

I adore seahorses, and seeing your two fabulous cards I think I am going to have to have him at some point. I adore the sea weedy look with all his wonderful flowing tendrils which you have used beautifully to add interest to the backgrounds, and the Brushos with the added 'Sprinkle It' has given a beautiful sparkle. Two gorgeous cards Sandra. x

Two really super cards with stunning backgrounds and a really lovely image. The dark edges looks great and really make the lighter colours stand out.
Thanks for your lovely comment and by the way it is my Daughter that is coming home for 2.5 weeks, it is really brilliant when she comes home but it is really, really sad when she goes back.
Have a lovely week.

Stunning work, Sandra - I love Sebastian, although I already own the Katzelcraft Seahorse and love him - but that one is special … drat! Love the colours you used, too - gorgeous colours and beautifully done. Wonderful work. Sadly, you've piqued my interest with the Sparkle... I may have to investigate that one - double drat!
