I Love My Brushos

Hello there,

I'm here to share another card with you that I'm entering in the current challenge over at 'Allsorts.'  It's their tenth anniversary, so lets give them lots of support as they all do a great job in inspiring us week after week.  Here's the card that I've made:

I've used my Brushos in the background.  They are definitely a firm favourite of mine as I love the intensity of their colour, also their unpredictability.  The main focal stamp that I've used is by Crafty Individuals and the sentiment and ink splat stamp were freebies from Creative stamping magazine a couple of months back.

Another amazing challenge blog, also celebrating their 10th birthday are the fabulous team over at TIOT.  They never fail to provide us with their wonderful inspiration and great challenge themes.  Thanks to all the DT, past and present for their hard work and inspiration in keeping this superb challenge up and running.

Wishing all of you all a happy and colourful weekend x

Happy Birthday

Hello there,

Here's my card.

My background was made by blending various Distress and Distress Oxide Inks inks and then stamped over using VersaFine Clair.  The background stamp is one of my favourites from Crafty Individuals and the butterfly stamp is by Tim Holtz.

May 19 - Mid Month Inspiration

Hello there my crafty friends,

I'm here today with some mid-month inspiration for our challenge over at Stamping Sensations:

I'm trying to use up some of my older stamps, some of which haven't been inked up in years and this wishing well is one of them.   I think it's by Flower Soft if my memory serves me right.  I stamped it using a Smoky Gray VersaFine and then coloured it with Distress Inks.  The flowers we stamped with some Art Impression stamps that have also been sat in a drawer, unused for years.  I did think about adding some Flower Soft but I decided to just leave it as it is.  The grasses and birds are by Inkylicious and the sentiment is by Chocolate Baroque.

A Little Bit Inky

Hello there,

I can't believe it's been a week since I last posted on here.  I've been busy finishing off my next lot of samples for Crafty Individuals.  I've also had a lovely, quiet weekend with lots of time to have a play with some stamps that haven't been used for ages, to build up my card stash a little as I'm thinking of doing a couple of Craft Fairs in the Summer.  It's a first for me, so I'm not really sure how much I'll need to take, or how much to ask for my cards.  I'll probably change my mind before the Summer and end up with enough cards to take me into old age! :)

I'd like to share a card with you that I've made today:

It's a Brusho background, with stamps by Inkylicious, Crafty Individuals and freebies from Creative Stamping Magazine. I've also used a Tim Holtz stencil too but it doesn't show too well on the photo.  I used bleach to lift some of the colour and a white pen to highlight some features on the beautiful lady.

I've really enjoyed playing with my Brushos and inks lately to create various background ready to use on my cards when I'm ready.

That's all from me for today and I'll catch up with my visits to your blogs during the week as it promises to be much quieter than of late.  Take care and be happy x

In An English Country Garden

Hello there,

It's time for another new challenge over at 'Stamping Sensations' and our theme this time is 'In An English Country Garden.'  Here's the card that I've made:

I started by stamping the house and trees which are by Crafty Individuals.  I heat embossed them to avoid any smudges at a later stage.  I tend to do this with most of my black stamping now.  Next, I used a blending tool and some Blueprint Sketch ink to fill in the sky.  I used a damp cotton wool ball to life some colour from the sky and to create some clouds, which we tend to have lots of in England. I also lifted some colour from the trees before colouring them green.  To create the grass in front of the house, I masked off the top half and again used a blending tool with some Impress Olive Green ink.  I used my Chocolate Baroque wild Meadow stamps in the foreground to add a burst of colour.  I inked them up using Spectrum Aqua pens and gave them a light spritzing of water before stamping.  This card will be added to my stash as I always seem to be short of 'New Home' cards.

That's all from me for now, so I'll wish you a happy and peaceful day x
