The Last Of My June CI Samples

Hello there on this Friday morning,

I'm here today to share the last two of my latest round of Crafty Individuals samples:

This first card was made using the Ephemera stamps, stamped onto CI paper and then fussy cut out to make my background.  I then over stamped with some of the postage stamps.  I love the CI children stamps and so I decided to make this card all about childhood memories and the sort of places that a child might visit, so I used a circus stamp as one of the main features.

This card was made using the border stamps and the background script stamp, which is one of my favourites as it's so useful and I di use it time and time again.

That's the last of my June samples and I'm busy again now making more samples for the shows that Crafty Individuals have on Hochanda at the beginning of August.

I hope that you all have a fabulous weekend and that the sun shines for you (Fingers crossed!)

A Couple More Of My CI June Samples

Hello there,

I hope that you're all keeping well and happy.

I'm here today to share with you a couple more of my Crafty Individuals samples made for their June shows:

I have to say that I'm loving using the latest stamps from Crafty Individuals as they all really lend themselves to colourful backgrounds, as you can see here with my first card.  I made the background using a Gelli Plate and acrylic paints, and then stamped over with CI images.  The colours on this card are so vivid and this is one of my personal favourites and all the stamps worked together really well.  I've just made a journal cover using this main focal stamp, so that's something that I may share at a later date as there's no artwork in it yet, so not much to show at the moment.

This one is quite a different style for me as I don't really do CAS but on this occasion, I thought that the stamps worked really well together for a CAS look.  I used a grey VersaFine to give a more subtle effect and then I stamped the sentiment in black so that it stood out more.

That's all from me for today but I'll be back on Sunday with my last couple of samples from the June shows.  Until then, I hope the sun shines for you wherever you are x

I would like to add my first card into the following challenges:

A Sweet Little Birdie

Hello there on this Sunday morning,

I'm here today to share another Crafty Individuals sample from their last shows on Hochanda.

This is another new stamp now available on the CI website and the artwork is by my very talented Teamie Dora.

I made a watery Brusho background, dried the card with a heat gun and then scrunched it up.  I opened it up and then I went over the card with a Distress Tea Dye ink pad before spritzing it with water to give a marbled effect.  Once my card was dry, I ran it through my Big Shot machine to straighten it out.  Next, I used a text stamp on the background using the Tea Dye ink pad again before stamping the main image with VersaFine Clair and then heat embossed it to avoid any smudges.  I then used my Sandstone and Olive Green Brushos again, along with some distress inks to water colour the image and I used bleach to lift the colour within the circle around the bird.

That's all from me for today so I wish you all a very happy day x

Mid Month Inspiration - June 19

Hello there my crafty friends,

It's time for us to give you some mid-month inspiration at Stamping Sensations and here's the card that I've made:

Now if you remember, on my last Stamping Sensations post, I did say that I like lots of different colours and so for this card, I've used my second favourite colour which is Turquoise.  I thought the colour would work perfectly with these fabulous stamps by Visible image.  It's a great little set as it has a little background fillers such as the tiny fish and seaweeds.  My background was made using Distress Oxides and I've used the same colour in a Distress ink to colour the Jellyfish.  To finish, I used a white marker pen to colour the bubbles.

We'd love you to join us in this month's challenge and there's still plenty of time left for you to share one of your makes with us.

Don't forget that we are sponsored by Mark and Helen at:

 'Visible Image'

this month and the lucky winner will receive a £25 gift voucher to spend at their online store

Stamping Sensations is a stamping challenge, so we must see a stamped image, sentiment or quote as the focal element of your artwork, this means: Stamping must be the central point of attention and interest.

All the details of our challenge rules can be found here

Please note:  If we don't comment on your entry it will be because it doesn't follow our theme to qualify under our rules, or because we are asked to sign in or provide additional data to comment on third part hosts such as Instagram, Flickr or Facebook etc.  We really don't want to be rude but we do want to be fair to those who follow the rules.

That's all from me for now, so I'll wish you a happy and peaceful day x

Butterflies In The Pink

Hello there,

I’ve just realised that I still have a few samples left to show you from the last Crafty Individuals shows.  The first card that I'm sharing with you today is made using one of my favourite stamps from the new collection.  Here it is:

The paper that I've used in the background is also by Crafty Individuals and the dies cuts are Tim Holtz florals.

To colour the butterflies, I tried to fine inks that I had that were similar to the colours in the background and then pressed them onto my mat before spritzing with water.  I then dipped my card into the colours.  Once dry, I stamped the butterflies with VersaFine Clair.

Here's another card that I made:

Now this one was something new for me.  It's a penny slider card.  I thought about the horse galloping and decided that I would give this one a go.  I've never made one before and it was a little fiddly, but it worked really well when I'd finished and it was something a little different. The horse that I've used is the same one from the carousel horses that I've posted here previously.  Once again, the background paper is by Crafty Individuals.

That's all from me for today and I hope to be back with you all very soon x

By The Sea

Hello there again,

I've done well with my blogging this week and I'm here today to show the last of the card that I made last weekend:

I made this one using acrylic paint on a Gelli Plate.  Just two paint colours and then some fluffy stuff and white acrylic paint for the sea foam.  I stamped the deckchairs directly on the card and then again so that I could colour and fussy cut them out.  I curved them and the umbrella with a bone folder before adding large blobs of glue from my hot glue gun.  The clouds were just sponged on with white acrylic paint.  Quite CAS but I didn't think it needed anything else.

That's all from me for today but I'll be back on Tuesday morning with some mid month inspiration for Stamping Sensations, so until then, I'd like to wish you all a very happy and colourful weekend x

'Nothing Soothes The Soul'

Hello my crafty friends,

I'm back again today with the second of my beach themed cards.  Once again, I've used the stamps that came with issue 72 of Creative Stamping magazine.

I really enjoyed using several of the new stamps and I decided to use cotton for the kite tails, rather than the stamped version.  I bent the kite to give it some dimension and did the same with the stones and seagull.

I hope to be back on Friday with my last beach card of this week, so until then, stay happy x

Relax

Hello there,

I'm not sure about you but I'm a little disappointed with the weather here in the UK at the moment.  It seems like rain, rain and more rain, and don't forget the chilly winds too :(  It's only a couple of weeks ago that I was enjoying the warmth of the Greek sun, and so I thought I would remind myself of that by making a few seaside and beach cards.  I had a very happy day in my craft room on Saturday, so this week, I hope to share a few of the cards that I made.  Last Friday, I picked up the latest copy of Creative Stamping magazine and the stamps that came with the magazine were all beach themed, so they are what I used.  I have a dreadful habit of falling in love with stamps on the front of mags and then never using them, so I was determined not to let that happen this time.  Here's the first of my cards:

I think the sentiment is perfect for this scene.  I just have to look at this scene and I'm in my happy place.  Lets all keep our fingers crossed for warmer days :)

Wishing you all a happy week ahead x

Something Blue

Good morning my lovely, crafty friends,

I hope that your weekend is going well.  I had a lovely day yesterday, just playing with stamps, both old and new and it was wonderful to spend some time in my craft room.

The card that I'm sharing with you today is one that I made for this month's challenge at CAS Watercolour Challenge - Something Blue

Totally out of my comfort zone as I wanted to add a blue border but resisted temptation! :)

The stamp is by Crafty Individuals and the sentiment was a freebie with this month's Creative Stamping magazine.  I stamped the image using VersaFine Clair and then water coloured it  with Distress Blueprint Sketch. I the used a small amount of bleach to lift some of the colour.  To finish, I used an Ink Duster with some of the Distress ink to give  some subtle shade in the left hand corner.

Wishing you all the best of days x

Another New Stamp With Brushos

Hello there,

Just a quick post from me today to share another sample that I've made for Crafty Individuals using one of their fabulous new stamps:

This is a super collage stamp as all of the hard work is already done for you.  For this card, I simply made a background using my Brushos and then I stamped over with VersaFine Clair.  Finally, I just picked out some of the elements, stamped them again and fussy cut them out before adding them to give a little contrast.  This stamp really lends itself to colourful backgrounds.

That's all from me for today and I hope to be back again with you very soon x

Beautiful Butterfly.

Hello there,

I'm back again today with another of my samples made for the two shows that Crafty Individuals have had on Hochanda this week.  If you missed them but would still like to see them, then they'll be available on Hochanda Catch Up for the next couple of weeks.  Here my card made with another of their brand new stamps:

This is such a beautiful stamp and the possibilities with it are endless.  I've also used another new text stamp from CI in the background.  This is another large stamp, A6 and the butterfly is gorgeous.  I really enjoyed seeing all of the other samples by my CI teamies and their wonderful colour choices.  I've used just two main colours on this card but you can have great fun creating colourful backgrounds that will be just perfect to use with this collage stamp.

That's all from me for today and I hope that it's a happy one for you x

Some Fabulous New Stamps By Crafty Individuals

Hello there my crafty friends,

I do hope that you are all keeping well and happy.

I'm here today to share a card that I've made using one of the fabulous new stamps by Crafty Individuals.  Jean was on Hochanda yesterday and she will be back again today at 12pm along with Lesley Wharton with more fabulous demos.  If you're not able to tune in, then you can always watch them on Hochanda Catch Up for the next couple of weeks.  My teamies have excelled themselves once again with their samples and I feel honoured to be part of such a talented team.  Here's the first of my samples:

Here's the actual stamp:

The carousel horse has been drawn by my very talented teamie...Dora.  Hasn't she done a great job.  It's quite a large stamp, A6, so great for making larger cards.  The one that I've made here is 8 x 8  and my aim was to make it look like a carousel with movement.  One of my happiest childhood memories is of my wonderful Dad taking me for a ride on these when I was small.  I remember the horses being so big and colourful and holding on so tightly to their gold poles.  I can still hear the music now and I remember my absolute joy and excitement, what precious memories.

Talking of precious memories, I made lots more last week as Hubby and I went on holiday to Halkidiki with our Daughter and her family.  The weather was glorious and I don't think I've ever felt so relaxed in my entire life.  It was fabulous from start to finish and I enjoyed every single second.  My Hubby went down to the beach every morning to watch the sunrise and I managed three mornings which I have to say were amazingly beautiful and incredibly emotional.  We've been married for over thirty seven years and this was just so romantic.  Just the two of us, an empty beach and the sun.  Here a just a few of the photos that we took on our phones with no filters:

It was a little cloudy on this one but I still loved the beauty of the sky and the way that the sun's rays were shining through.  I can't wait to get my inks out and use some of these photos for inspiration.

Sunset

Right then, as with any return from holiday, there is washing to be done and lots of catching up to do.  I'll be round to visit you all as soon as I can.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and for taking the time to share some of my precious moments xx

Show Your True Colours

Hello there,

It's time for a new challenge over at Stamping Sensations and this time, our theme is:

'Show Your True Colours'

I had think hard about this one as in truth, I quite like lots of colours but if I have to choose an absolute favourite, then it would be purple, in various shades.

For my card, I created a background with Brushos and then I've used Visible Image stamps.  The image of the head and verse were stamped using VersaFine Clair Nocturn and then heat embossed to avoid smudging.  I used my stamping press and Distress inks to create an Ombre effect on the dream catcher.

We are very generously sponsored this month by Mark and Helen at:

Visible Image

The lucky winner will receive a £25 gift voucher to spend at their online store.  How amazing is that!

Stamping Sensations is a stamping challenge, so we must see a stamped image, sentiment or quote as
