White On White

Hello there,

I hope that you're all keeping well and happy.

I've had a busy morning, catching up with some housework and I've made two Christmas cakes which are just starting to smell amazing.  It's made me think that I really need to start getting organised for Christmas as today is the first time this year that I've given it a thought and it will be here before I know it!

I'm here today to share a card that I've made for this week's challenge over at Allsorts, their theme is 'White on White.'  Now is not very often that I make a card without using inks, so this one is quite different from my usual style and I hope that you like it.

I went to the Stamperama show at Harrogate on Saturday.  It was a fabulous show with lots of stalls and a great atmosphere.  I was quite relieved really after the last show at Doncaster had been so much quieter than it usually is.  I had a lovely catch up with Jean and Malcolm from Crafty Individuals and also with the Inkylicious crew.  I also met and had a chat with the lovely Judith Smith who's the head of Chocolate Baroque's Design Team.  There were lots of fabulous demos going on and I really enjoyed watching John Lockwood using the new stamps by Two Jays which he'd demoed on Hochanda last week.  It's the first time I've met him and he's such a lovely chap. The samples on his stall were beautiful and I was tempted into buying the Cut and Emboss Snowflake border that I've used on today's card.  There were some beautiful samples made with it and I just couldn't resist.  Here's my card:

Some of you may have noticed that I also used this folder on yesterday's Remembrance card too.  I've just a put it on a white 6 x 6 card and used a snowflake die which I think is by Memory Box, but don't quote me on that.  I've used Ranger Liquid Pearls on each of the border's snowflakes.  It's a very simple card to make and you could easily make large batches of this in a very short time, which is exactly what we all need in the run up to Christmas.  I may be temped to add a gem to the center but I've left it off for now to fit in with the them of the challenge.

I think that's all for today.  It's been lovely to have a little more time to chat as I seem to always be in a rush these days.

Take care and I wish you lots of happy crafting x

Lovely card Sandra. Thought about Harrogate as it's less than a couple of hours away but to be honest I really can't do with the mad crowds pushing and shoving to get to the front of stalls.... and the inevitable foot being run over by a mad crafter armed with a shopping trolley!!

Gosh, you've nailed that, Sandra - wow! It's beautiful. I have this in the back of my mind (when not doing AED) and could only think of some embossing, as you have. This is dramatic and very effective.

A really lovely EF Sandra and I will quote you on the snowflake die as it is Memory Box as I have that die too and looked to check. Great design too.
I have seen John Lockwood a couple of times at Sam Taylors in Brighouse and I really like him as he is really down to earth so helpful.
Hope you week is going well.

I adore your beautiful white on white card Sandra, and the EF is so pretty with the nice frame in the centre which was great to show off your poppies yesterday and this super snowflake today. A really elegant card. Glad you enjoyed the Harrogate show and got to meet lots of people. I would have loved to have met Jean and Malcolm and also Judith who I have a lot to do with at present through the GDT, but it is five hours journey from here in Somerset so obviously not possible. x

I seem to be pushing my crafty friends to the edge of comfort this week, I've just been to Leanne as well.

This is a beautiful card Sandra, the embossed panel frames the beautiful snowflake perfectly and the pearls make an elegant finishing touch. Perfect for our White on White theme at Allsorts, thank you so much for making a special effort to join in.

Sounds like you had a good time at Harrogate and met some friendly faces, also that you met John for the first time, I confess I succumbed to his new stamps last week.

Yes Christmas really is not far away, I felt quite proud of myself at the weekend as I did all my shopping on line, prompted by the upcoming eye op and ether 'events' I thought it was sensible.

how spooky is this? MY christmas cake just needs another 10 minutes (still a bit gooey on the tester!) so while I'm waiting I thought I'll just look and see what Sandma's been up to - and there you are, just reporting back about Stamperama. I was there too - had a big shopping list. John is ALWAYS lovely, he always says hello, I was just relieved he had not been flooded. I was thoroughly captivated by Picture This, their stamps are amazing.
I love this white on white card. AND, it was my birthday on 11 November, I feel like stars are lined up!! (perhaps I should get a lottery ticket!) Hope you are well.
Love
