A Diamond Wedding Anniversary

Hello again,

It's not often that we get a chance to make Diamond Wedding Anniversary cards and this is only the third one that I've made in the last seventeen years.  It's just a rare few that are lucky enough to make it through life's ups and downs and remain together for sixty years and what an incredible achievement.  I've made the card that I'm sharing with you today for a very special couple why will be celebrating their Diamond anniversary next week.  Sadly, due to the current Covid situation, there won't be a big party, just a quiet family celebration.  Here's the card that I've made:

For the main focal image, I've used the beautiful Harlequin Rose stamp by Chocolate Baroque.  I've coloured the rose using Victorian Velvet Distress ink.  I've also done something that I very rarely do which is to use a few silver peel offs but I felt that it just needed some finishing touches.  I've also added four diamond effect gems which I thought were quite appropriate.

That's all from me for today but I hope that you all have a lovely day, whatever you're doing.  If I don't see you before, then I'll be back on Sunday with a new challenge over at Stamping Sensations xx

I'd like to add this card to the following challenge:

Allsorts - Flowers All Over

Such a beautiful card Sandra, those peeloffs around the outside finish it off perfectly. I'm sure that the happy couple will love this card. My in laws celebrated their diamond anniversary in 2009 sadly my MIL passed away just before they would have celebrated 65 years.

Beautiful diamond wedding card and love the 'diamonds' incorporated in the stamped image...very clever... it is sad when we con't celebrate milestone anniversaries but it's better we are all safe..and hopefully celebrate when things are better.

That Harlequin Rose is a beauty and love the pretty colours you have used Sandra, and the added gems, and also the peel offs which work beautifully to enhance the outside edges. I have quite a few peel offs mouldering away in a folder and I think that they can work well, and they certainly do here. x

A really super creation, great image and dies and like the background diamonds, nice touch. The peel offs are perfect for this card. When I used them for the sentiment on my RD and SS card I was told that apparently they are becoming popular again, can't see it really.

Hi Sandra,
yes you are right it's not many that make it too the Diamond Anniversary.
Mt mother passed away a month before hers.
It was my sister's 57th this year so I am keeping my fingers crossed that they make it to theirs.
I love your wonderful card and your work as always is so wonderfully created too.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
