We're Under The Sea Today

Hello there my crafty friends,

I hope that you're all enjoying your weekend so far.  I've been enjoying re-visiting some of my older, neglected stamps.  When you have so many, it's very easy to over look some of your old favourites and I have to say that I tend to gravitate to my newer stamps.

The card that I'm sharing with you today is one from my latest set of Crafty Individuals samples and I think that this one was my favourite of them all this time around.

I've used Distress Oxides and VersaFine Clair inks in the background, which was built up gradually with Stamps and stencils.  The sentiment is from an older stamp set by Crafty Individuals and the Seahorse is from their latest collection of new stamps (CI-540)   I stamped the seahorse using VersaFine and then coloured it using my Giotto pens as water colours.  The pens are great to use like this and then you can always use the pens directly if you're wanting to use bolder colours.  When my scene was finished.  I added a couple of coats of Spray and Shine by Crafters Companion.  This protects the image and also helps to intensify the colours that you've used.  I finished my card by using a few of my Tim Holtz die cut florals...who says you can't have flowers under the sea! :)

That's all from me for today and I wish you all a week with lots of happy crafting xx

I'd like to add this card to the following challenges:

Country View Challenges - I do like to be beside the seaside

Right...this design is definitely in my 'to borrow' folder, it's lovely. You are right about old favourite stamps - I've recently revisited my old whisper shadow stamps, they are just right now too!
Hope you are OK.

This is a stunning card Sandra and the white stylised die cut TH flowers look great as underwater foliage to accompany that fantastical seahorse, and you chose your background shapes well with a circle theme with dotty flower shapes, spots and the white circles which go perfectly, and some beautiful shades of blue and yellow, and also a touch of lilac on the seahorse. Gorgeous!! x

This is really fabulous Sandra, gorgeous background, great stencils and a really lovely image. The white stands out just as much as black does and I haven't heard of Spray and shine but if I have done a chalk background I use hair spray to set it and that also can give a bit of a shine.
