Autumn's Here!

 Hello my crafty friends,

It was only a couple of days ago that we were basking in the sunshine but over the last couple of days, autumn has well and truly arrived! There's a definite chill in the air and the garden is a little on the damp side.  On the plus side, the leaves are changing colour on the trees and for me, the palette that autumn paints is the prettiest of all.  With all of this in mind, I decided that I would create an autumnal page for my art journal and this is the result:

I started by sponging some distress inks in yellow and orange to create my background.  Unfortunately, the orange doesn't show too well in this photo.  The stamps that I've used with the excetion of the sentiment are all by Chocolate Baroque from their 'Autumn Poppy' set.  The sentiment is by Inkylicious.  This was a labour of love as I stamped and cut out masks for each of the mushrooms.  I did this as I wanted to push some into the background to create some depth.  Once this was all done, I then set about adding some colour.  I used various inks and brush pens to do this.  Finally, I finished by sponging some colour around the edges and using a white Posca pen to add some highlights here and there.  I haven't had these stamps very long but now felt like the perfect time to use them.

Take care of yourselves, keep safe and keep warm xx

I'd like to add this card into the following challenges:

CCEE Stampers - Mushroom Month

Moving Along With The Times - Create a Scene

Hello....this is lovely, you really have a knack for expressing the seasons in images.
Do you think the white Posca pen is the best/most reliable for adding white? I'm sort of doing a bit of a 'straw poll' on this subject as white pens seem dreadfully unreliable, but the posca keeps coming up. And...do you use white gesso? If so any suggestions regarding best makes would be grateully received.
Hope you are well.

Such amazing page, Sandra!! Autumnal colours are always magical with their warmth and your mushrooms scene show so well this feel even if the orange isn't too much visible! Your colouring is amazing and looks stunning! And you masked any mushroom, wow!! Usually I don't mask nothing, because it takes time... LOL But surely your work tells me to try and fatiguing a bit :) A wonderful constructed scene, with a lot of dimensions! These mushrooms sing, I can hear them! :D

Absolutely gorgeous Sandra and I adore this CB set and will have to be bringing it out now autumn has definitely arrived. I love the colours you have used for your leaves and fungi too, and the background has just the right amount of colour to make it look bright but light and a lovely sentiment to finish too. x

Absolutely beautiful Sandra! I agree that autumn's palette is stunning - natures way of easing us gently out of the warmth of summer! Love those gloriously coloured mushrooms and the way you masked them to create so much depth. Vicky x
