Bluebells

Hello there,

I hadn't indended doing a post today but I've just finished making a card and I thought I would share it with you, so here it is:

Featuring CI- 572, CI-493 and CI-194.

This card features the latest new stamp by Crafty Individuals and it's beautiful isn't it.  It's one that can be stamped and coloured quite simply, or you can do as I've done here and add lots of colour.  I've used my trusty Brushos in the background of the main focal image, then I've blended Distress inks around the edge in complementary colours.  I just highlighted the bluebells with a touch of white Posca pen to bring the bluebells to life.

If you're a fan of Crafty Inndividuals stamps, then you'll be pleased to hear that they have two shows on Hochanda on Friday the 2nd of April at 10am and 2pm GMT.  They have more fab new stamps featuring the artwork of Sharron Bates, and who knows, you might even see a couple of my samples on there.  I will, of course, be posting my samles on here once the shows have actually aired.

Right then my lovlies, that's all from me for today but I hope to be back with you very soon, so until then, take care and stay safe xx

Rudolph Days - March 2021

Hello there,

Well, it's the 25th of the month again which can only mean one thing.  Yes, it's time for another 'Rudolph Days challenge.  Here's the card that I've made this month:

I've done my favourite style of stamping which is to create a scene, this time, using two different sets of stamps.  The trees, shed and gate are by Andy Skinner and the sheep are by Hobby Art Stamps.

I started by stamping the shed and then used some torn copy paper to mask off the snow while I created the sky.  I have to say that I love this tree stamp as it's so realistic and another thing that I really like about this stamp set is that you have the gate and fence posts, so you can make every card different.  I used a black fine liner to join the fence posts together.  Finally, I stamped the sheep as I think they look great on Christmas cards.

Mo and her friendly team will have lots of inspiration for you, so why not pop over and take a look.

That's all from me for today and I hope to be back with you very soon xx

Twofer Challenge

Hello there again,

I've just realised that my blog posts are like buses, nothing for agaes, then three of them come at once! :)

I've just been commenting on my friend Viv's blog and I realised that the challenge that she'd made her cards for is one that I've not entered before and it's the 'Twofer Challenge'   It's not because I haven't wanted to enter but because other things always seem to get in the way and I haven't had time to make two cards at once.  It just so happens that their theme this time is 'Your Choice' and I have two cards in my stash that I haven't posted before, so here they are: (Better late than never!)

So the first one is for 'encouragement' and the second one a birthday card.  This beautiful stamp is by Chocolate Baroque and was very kindly gifted to me by my lovely crafty friend 'Sally.'  Yes, I know that I'm blessed to have such good friends, I'm a very lucky lady!

That's all from me for today but I'll be back on the 25th, so until then, take care and stay safe xx

Stamping With A Die Cut

Hello there my crafty friends,

I mentioned yesterday that I was hoping to enter a few challenges and so I've made a card for one of my new favourites, the 'CAS Mix Up Water Colour Challenge.'  Their theme this month is print making with die cuts.  Now this is definitely a new one for me and something that I've not done before.  It's not as easy at it looks but I got there in the end.  I decided that I would use Distress Oxides and they tend to react much better with water.  Here's the card that I've made:

The die cut that I've use is one of Tim Holtz's florals.  I painted on the ink, then spritz it before pressing it onto the white card.  Once I'd positioned it where I wanted it, I pressed on gently with a tissue and I found that doing this gave the best impression.  Once I'd stamped with the die cut a few times, I let it dry and made a second floral to add on top of my prints to give the card a little dimension.  I finished off by mking a die cut butterfly and using a Stampin Up sentiment.  As I thought that it might end up a total mess, I was pleasantly surprised at the end result.

That's all from me for today and if I don't see you before, then I'll be back on the 25th for the Rudolph Day Challenge xx

Pretty Flamingos And A Toucan

Hello there,

I thought that I'd do a quick post today to share a couple more of the samples that I made for Crafty Individuals back in February and here they are:

The lovely background paper that I've used on my first card is also by Crafty Individuals

I've just finished my samples for the next shows that will be on Hochanda at the beginning of April, so I hope that I'll be able to visit you all a little more often and I may even enter a few challenges if I can get a move on before the month's over.  I just don't know where the time goes!

In other news, I had my Covid vaccination on Wednesday.  I did suffer some mild side effects but I was feeling fit and well again by Friday.  I'm just glad that it's all over and done with, well at least the first one.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend and I hope to be back with you all soon xx

Out Of Chaos

Hello there,

Sorry that I've been so quiet over the last week or so but I'm busy making samples at the moment.  More details of that to follow nearer to the event.

I'm here today with a quick post to share a card that I've made using some new stamps from Visible Image.  I've been wanting this set for ages after recieving the larger set for Christmas.

I love this flower and can see it getting plenty of use in the future.

In other news, I'm getting my first Covid Vaccination next week, so wish me luck!  I have to say that I'm not looking forward to it but I am looking but I am looking forward to the freedom that I hope it may bring in the near future.  It's been a long lockdown and I'm ready now to start getting back to some sort of normality.

Right then, that's all from me for today but I hope to be back will you all very soon.  Until then, take care, stay safe and have a good weekend xx
