Let's Go Back To The Beach

Hello there,

I think probably one of the things that we've all missed most, apart from our loved ones during lockdown is the sea.  Just being able to have a day trip to the coast or a week's holiday.  We did one day trip to Whitby last summer but out trip was short lived as it was so busy and it just didn't feel safe as there were so many people not wearing masks and there wasn't much social distancing going on either.  Anyway, with the seaside in mind, here's the card that I'd like to share with you today:

As with my last seaside card, I stamped out the CI images and then fussy cut them before adding them to the background that I'd created.  I used some fluffy puffy stuff to make the incoming tide.  The group of girls is one of my favourite CI stamps.  It just shouts out fun, happiness and brings back memories of a carefree youth. I've used the seagull again in the foreground and as I wanted him looking into the scene,  I needed to reverse his image.  I stamped him out on acetate, painted the back with white acrylic before adding him to the picture. The sentiment on the bunting sums up the scene perfectly.  Here's to carefree summer days!

See you all again soon x

I'd like to add this card in the following challenges:

What a lovely scenic card Sandra...love the girls holding hands and skipping...yes its lovely so spend time at the seaside, we are only 40mins away from Weymouth which is lovely with the harbour... but we tend to keep away when the children are on holiday!

I love your beach scene Sandra and yes it really evokes those days gone by at the beach. I remember jumping those waves as a kid. Your proud seagull...how clever to reverse the image. A fabulous card (as your always are). xx

What a fun and beautiful summer seaside scene Sandra and the stamping on acrylic to reverse the seagull has worked wonderfully well, and also your clouds in the sky are so realistic. I'm not sure what you use to create them but you have done them perfectly and the added distant seagulls are a great finishing touch as well as the lovely sentiment bunting. A gorgeous card! x

Such a wonderful card Sandra, the images are gorgeous, even the seagull, a species I absolutely hate, beautifully designed too.
I love Whitby, been years since we visited there, I guess it will be along time if ever that we will be back there, Kate x

A beautiful scene Sandra and you're so right about missing the beach. I did manage a little walk along the beach at Hornsea at the end of May but it was cold and windy, plenty of people walking their dogs there though.

Amazing scene, and the fluffy puffy stuff makes the incoming tide so realistic! The seagull looks fabulous too. Love the touch of the banner!

Dear Sandra
lovely, evocative, summer fun scene. Please may I just clarify something about the bird, after stamping on acetate and putting paint on him, did you then 'print' him onto the scene, or simply cut him out?
I know what you mean about Whitby - we went for a christening a couple of years ago (most of my family live over that way) and we went for a walk into the town. You could not move - it was so packed! (and they weren't all goths). Heaven knows how they've gone on through the lockdowns.
Hope you are well.
Love
Maggie (Bendy Yorkite)

You now have me yearning for Whitby! I used to go often with my brother - birdwatching, lol. And the seagulls there were VERY active! The waves and water are so well done, they look real! Wow! I always struggle with the sea but you've done it brilliantly!
