How are you all keeping..... good I hope.
I'm here today to share a card with you that I've made for this month's challenge over at CAS Mix Up. I've actually made two cards for the challenge over the weekend, so I'll be sharing the second one in the coming week.
CAS cards don't come naturally to me, although I have to say that the more that I've made, the more I'm enjoying making them and I'm really starting to like the end results too. This challenge has now become one of my firm favourites as it really does challenge me to try something different, which is a good thing as it's very easy to get stuck in our ways. This month's challenge is to use alcohol inks on Vellum. I don't own any alcohol inks, but I do have a few alcohol markers, so that's what I used on this card:
I started by scribbling the alcohol inks onto the vellum, then I spritzed them with some surgical spirit to achieve the desired effect. Next, I used an oval die to make an apeture in a single piece of card and then stamped the Inkylicious poppy and sentiment. I then stamped and coloured a second poppy and again, I used a red alcohol marker to give it a great depth of colour. I glued the vellum behind the oval, ink side down. This card is a 5 x 7, which is a size that I find I'm using more and more.
So that's all for today and I have to say that I'm really happy with how the card turned out and I also had lots of fun making it. I suppose using the alcohol colours on vellum is sort of like using brushos, in that you have no idea how they are going to turn out.
Take care and I'll be back with you all again soon xx
