I was absolutely thrilled and surprised to find that I had won the May challenge over at CAS Christmas Challenge. I'm fairly new to CAS card making, so it really was an honour to have my card chosen as the winner. Shortly after winning, I was asked if I would like to be a Guest Designer for July and I was very happy to accept their kind offer.
The challenge for July is 'Poinsettia' and here's the card that I've made:
The Poinsettia stamp that I've used is by Crafty Individuals. I stamped out the image on stamping card, then coloured it using Spectrum Noir pens. The next part was definitely a labour of love as I spent ages fussy cutting out the flowers. Before adding the flowers to my card, I used some blue and yellow Distress ink which I dabbed on using a piece of cling film. I think this is such a lovely effect and makes a great backdrop for the Poinsettia flowers. I also did the same in the top left corner to give the card some balance. I finished by adding the sentiment and a little grey shadow under the flowers to give them a little depth. I hadn't intended to mount the card on red but I felt that it just brought everything together. Well I've really enjoyed making this card and it would be lovely if you could join us to at:
I'd like to add this card to the following challenges:
