Rudolph Days - August 21

Hi there,

It was time for another 'Rudolph Days' challenge over at Scrappy Mo's blog but sadly, she's had to cancel this month due to ill health.  Get well soon Mo and I will look forward to joining you again next month xx

Here's the card that I'd made for the challenge:

For this card, I've used stamps by Inkylicious.  These are some of my favourites of their stamps, I've made hundreds of cards with them and I never get tired of using them.  It's amazing how you can change how a scene looks just by changing the colour of the sky.

I have to say that I've done really well so far this year as I've managed to make a card for Mo's challenge every month and let's be honest, there's only three more to go, so fingers crossed that I can keep up the good work!

That's all from me for today, so take care and be happy x

The Gentle Dragon

Hi Folks,

I'm back today to share the last of my most recent samples for Crafty Individuals.  Here's my card:

This one was stamped and coloured and I added some glitter to the wings.  I really like the warm tones on this card which features the 'Gentle Dragon' (CI-580) stamp by Crafty Individuals.  I used the Phoenix stamp around the edge of my card and then blended some red ink.  I also used some gold gilding wax too.  I used some 'Spray and Shine' on this one, so that the colours would look more intense and it worked really well.

Samples all shown now, so I'll soon be onto something new.  Thank you for your lovely comments and I really appreciate your visits.  Blog land seems to be getting quieter and quieter, so it's good that there are still a few of us out there supporting each other,

Take care and I'll be back on the 25th with my latest 'Rudolph Days' offerering.  Until then, take care and stay happy xx

Fairy Rose

Hi there,

Have you got that Friday feeling?  I hope that you've got something nice planned for over the weekend.

Before we get to the weekend, I have a couple more samples to share with you.  This time it's using the new Crafty 'Fairy Rose' stamp (CI-579.)

Now this card was a bit fiddly but worth it in the end.  I used my stamping press and elongate the tree part of the stamp.  I had intended to colour the card but in the end, I decided that I prefered it just in monochrome, so that's how I left it.  I used a die to cut out an apeture as I wanted the lovely 'Fairy Rose' to actually swing.  As with my last card, I've used a backing sheet from the 'Wonderfully Weathered 3' set by Crafty Individuals.  This one toned in beautifully with the monochrome look.  Next was the really tricky bit.... trying to thread the black cotton through the swing and fixing it to the card.  Needless to say, I think that I need some new glasses.  I remember the days when threading a needle was dead easy but not now!  The fairy was stamped three times and layered up as I wanted the wings to look like butterfly wings.

Card number two was stamped and coloured and then I added some Flower Soft.  I've had this stuff for years and it rarely gets used but I thought that it would work well on the tree.  I used another backing paper from 'Wonderfully Weathered 3' and then coloured the fairy to match.

Okay, that's me done for another day.  Only one more sample to share from the shows at the beginning the month, so I'll see you all soon xx

A Rainbow Tree

Hello there,

I have to say that I'm getting better at sharing my samples and I hope that you're enjoying them.  Today I'm sharing a couple of cards using the new 'Wishing Willow' tree(CI-581) by Crafty Individuals.  Here they are:

I have to say that I had great fun making the first one.  I made a rainbow background with various coloured Brushos, then I spent a good couple of hours water colouring the image with Distress inks.  This would be a good one for you Kate C as I know how much you enjoy your colouring.  The second card was again coloured with Distress inks and I've used one of the 'Wonderfully Weathered 3' backing papers by Crafty Individuals. The papers are gorgeous any the vibrancy of the colours is outstaning,  The sentiment that I've added is from CI-450.

That's me done for today, so take care and be happy xx

It's A Baby Dragon

Hi there,

Friday the 13th...... Hope that it's a good day for you all ;)

I'm sharing another sample with you today and this time it's the gorgeous baby dragon (CI-578) and how cute is he?

I started by making a rainbow background and then stamping this little cutie.  I thought that I'd make a DL card for a change and this stamp worked perectly for that.  I stamped the dragon a couple more times and then layered him up.  I created a border around the edge of the card used a CI flower stamp and a leaf from the new Phoenix stamp.  The sentiment that I've used is one from my stash.

Enjoy the rest of your day and I'll be back with you all soon xx

The Rising Phoenix

Before I start my post today,  I’d just like to say that I’m so sorry that we’ve lost our lovely friend ‘Kath’ from ‘Plain and Simple.’   I will miss our chats and our shared love of crafting.  We were hoping to meet up again once the shows resumed but sadly, this isn’t now to be.  May you rest in peace my lovely friend xxx

I'm here today to share a couple more of my latest samples and these two cards feature the wonderful new 'Rising Phoenix' (CI-582) stamp by Crafty Individuals:

This is such a lovely stamp and a good size too.  I've used A5 card for these two and it fills the card perfectly.  As you can see with my second card, I've actually turned it into a dove of peace.  I thought that it would be good to show that it doesn't have to be a Phoenix.  I've added sequins to both cards as I think that it gives them a good finish.

If you missed the two shows by Crafty Individuals, then you can still watch them on 'Catch Up' at 'The Craft Store' for the next month or so.

Enjoy your day and I'll be back with you later on in the week xx

Crafty Individuals On Telly Today

Hello there,

As I previously mentioned, I've been busy recently making some new samples for the Crafty Individuals shows on 'The Craft Store and today's the day!  The lovely Jean Hardy will be on telly today at 10am and 2pm BST, so I hope that you'll be able to join her.  This time around, the stamps have been designed by our very own lovely Dena from the DT.  Here's the first of my samples:

This one took me quite a while to make as I've used four out of five of the new stamps and as you can see, there was a lot of masking involved with this one.  Once the card was finished, I then used some Stickles glitter glue.  I very rarely use glitter on my projects but as the theme this time is 'Myth and Fantasy' I thought that it would work well.  I've stamped the images with VersaFine, then coloured them with Distress inks.  So, don't forget to watch The Craft Store at 10am and 2pm BST :)

That's all from me for today but all be back with you all shortly to share a few more of my samples.

Take care of yourselves and have a lovely weekend xx

CAS Sympathy

Hi there,

Just a quick post from me to share a card that I've made for this month's 'CAS Stencil Challenge.'

I used blending brushes over a brick stencil to add blueprint sketch and worn lipstick Distress inks.  Next, I used Versafine Smokey Gray on a  french text stamp by Crafty Individuals to stamp through the stencil.  I finished my card off by adding a couple of Tim Holtz floral die cuts and a sentiment.

That's all from me for today but I'll be back first thing in the morning to share the first of my samples showing some of the latest stamps by Crafty Individuals.  Jean Hardy is back on 'The Craft Store' tomorrow at 10am and 2pm, so I hope you'll be able to join her xx
