Autumnal Art Journal Page

Hello there Peeps and how are you all doing?

I've had a good week so far.  Hubby and I had a lovely morning walk yesterday collecting elderberries and blackberries for wine making over the coming weeks.  I'll have to let you know how that goes as I've never made either of them before.  I made some elderflower wine earlier on in the year and that was really successful, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for the next lot.  I spent yesterday afternoon making an autumnal art jounal page with a little bit of a twist as I have a dancing girl in the center.  I hadn't planned to do that but I was just drawn to the stamp, so I went with the flow!  Here it is:

The 'Dancing Woman' stamp is by Rubber Dance (NBUS)  I'm ashamed to say that I've had this stamp for the last year or so and it's the first time that it's been used!  All of the leaves that I've used with this exeption of a few small die cuts are by Inkylicious.  I pressed my ink pads into my craft mat, then spritzed before picking up the colour on my card.  Once it was completely dry, I then stamped in VersaFine and clear embossed it to set the ink.  Next, I spent a good couple of hours cutting them out and that's a labour of love, I can tell you!  There are a few tiny leaves that I die cut as I wanted to have a good variety of shapes and colours on the page.  Next, I had to decide whether to use a sentiment or not but in the end, I decided to go with one that came as a freebie with Creative Stamping magazine a couple of years ago.  Also, I forgot to mention that I used a leaf stencil on white card which I used as the base of my design.  Although you can't see very much of it, I fussy cut around it as I didn't want to have a straight edge.  All done now and I'm very happy with it and I hope that you like it too.

I would like to add this journal page into the following challenges:

Country View Challenges - The Leaves Begin To Fall

A Bit More Time To Craft - Anything Goes

Pixie's Snippets Playground - Ruby's Memory  (Very rare that I use snippets on my inky cards, so joining in just for fun with this challenge as I have loads on this journal page :)

Such a stunning journal page Sandra. I remember making Blackberry wine with my Grandmother too many years ago now in my teens. Many years after it was made she found a bottle in the back of her larder and upon opening it found that it tasted like Port. Hope your wine making goes as successfully.

What a fabulous autumnal journal page. You've reminded me it's been far too long since I played in my art journal! Love the contrast and all the autumn colours. Great way to use up your snippets.

As you may know, I'm still helping Miss Di out with Playground commenting, but she's making a rapid recovery, so come and join in the mischief up at the Treehouse before she can start climbing the rope ladder and stop us!

Thanks for playing in the Snippets Playground.
Hugs from the Snippets Head Prefect. x

There's something so comforting about autumn colours so this is a real beauty. Elderflower is one of my favourite flavours, never tried wine but I suspect it's gorgeous. Hope your Grandson is enjoying school. Mollie apparently got more and more excited as the week went on!! xx

Wow Sandra - what a perfectly Autumnal journal page! Plenty of snippets as well. It's a lot of years since I last made wine, given all the kit away now, but it's such fun to go foraging for wild berries and fruits. Good luck! The sampling can be the best part if all goes to plan.

Hi...what absolutely gorgeous leaves that surround your lovely dancing lady. They certainly must have been a labour of love fussy cutting all those...but what a wonderful page for your journal. Thank you for your comment and for thinking of me...I am touched by your concern. I am fine thank you...but not very crafty motivated still...but I always seem to have to find time to do those jobs that are there...there is a distinct lack of fairies round here! Hugs xxx
